Dr. Sharon Karr, one of the Emporia State Young Dems advisors, has filed to oppose incumbent Republican Sen. Jim Barnett for the 17th District this fall. Dr. Karr marks the second candidate to file against Sen. Barnett; a Republican has also filed in an attempt to unseat him in the Aug. 3 primary.
